About Legacy Dance Academy
Legacy Dance Academy, formerly Sandy Stramonine School of Dance, emphasizes the educational side of dance. Our classes focus on classical technique in a caring and supportive environment. At Legacy, we pride ourselves on teaching life lessons along with dance lessons. Our experienced instructors are passionate about helping students develop their skills while building confidence and self-esteem.
We offer a wide variety of classes for students of all ages and skill levels, including
pre-school, ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, and theatrical tap.

Our Instructors
Allison Huff
Studio Director / Teacher
Allison Huff, Studio Director & Teacher began studying dance at the age of 3. When she was 5 years old, she began attending the Sandy Stramonine School of Dance, now Legacy Dance Academy. Allison is a graduate of the studio and is a member of Dance Masters of America; she is currently on the Board of DMA Chapter 8. In addition to Sandy Stramonine, Allison has had the pleasure of studying under several teachers including Shan Dai of the Central Ballet of China and Catherine Grotezinger of Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. She has participated in intensives with Jon Lehrer of Jon Lehrer Dance, and Heather Berest & Orien Duckstein of the Paul Taylor Dance Company in addition to attending various dance workshops and conferences including Dance Masters of America, Manhattan Dance Project, and The Dance Teacher Life Conference. Allison is certified to teach dance by Dance Masters of America and holds additional certifications in Progressing Ballet Technique and Barre Fitness (Barre Above). Allison became the owner and director of Sandy Stramonine School of Dance, now Legacy Dance Academy in October of 2017.
In addition to her dance training, Allison holds a BA in English from Point Park University and is also a Licensed Social Worker with an MSW degree from the University at Buffalo. Through her Social Work background, Allison has received ACEs, DASA, SAVE, and Trauma Informed Care Training.
Christy Treasure
Jazz, Lyrical, & Tap Teacher
Miss Christy has been dancing at the Sandy Stramonine School of Dance, now Legacy Dance Academy, since the age of 5. She was a demonstrator throughout her high school years and began teaching at the studio when she was 16. Christy went to SUNY Geneseo where she majored in Elementary Education and minored in Dance. After graduating, Christy returned to the area and resumed teaching at the studio for several years. Christy then took a hiatus from dance to have children, but returned again to in 2018. She has attended dance workshops/classes such as the Manhattan Dance Project and Broadway Dance Center. Christy has also participated in Dance Masters of America Teacher Training. During the day, you can find Christy at the Monroe #1 BOCES as the Director of School Improvement. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, a Masters Degree in Reading K-12 and an educational certificate in School and District Administration.
Tracy Whitney
Pre-School &
Primary Teacher
Tracy Whitney teaches Pre-School Dance, and Combo A, B and C levels. She believes in fostering a love of movement in her young students and building a child’s character and self-esteem while teaching an art and skill in a supportive atmosphere. Tracy began her dance instruction with Sandy Stramonine as a young student and was thrilled to join the faculty in 2005. She has taught a variety of levels, including jazz and tap. Tracy holds a BFA from Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts and began her career in the design industry. She has three grown daughters, three granddaughters, and resides with her husband in Marion. She is the library manager of the Marion Public Library.
Suzanne Nash
Ballet Teacher
Suzanne Nash was a member of the original Ballet Austin. She studied in NYC for ten summers, first with Thalia Mara and then at the School of American Ballet, going on to dance in the Kansas City Starlight Musicals and three seasons with the Ruth Page International Ballet of Chicago. She has a BA and MA in Dance from Butler University and Teachers College, Columbia, and was assistant professor in dance at Newark State and SUNY Geneseo. As senior teacher, rehearsal mistress, and director of the Botsford School of Dance, Rochester, she had extensive teacher training under ABT ballet master Jurgen Schneider. Then she accepted the invitation to join the wonderful faculty of Sandy Stramonine School of Dance, now Legacy Dance Academy, and has attended several summers at the Canadian National Ballet School Teachers’ Course and the John White Vaganova Seminars. Suzanne is dedicated to sharing the joy and excitement of dance with her students.
Christopher Lominac
Tap Teacher
Christopher Lominac has been dancing at Sandy Stramonine School of Dance, now Legacy Dance Academy, since the age of 7. He has been teaching tap classes at the studio since the age of 18. Christopher has attended dance workshops such as the Manhattan Dance Project and Jazz Dance World Congress and has taken tap dance classes from various tap dancers such as Savion Glover. Christopher has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master's Degree in Applied Statistics from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Sara Cipolla
Jazz & Tap Teacher
Sara Cipolla began studying dance at Sandy Stramonine School of Dance, now Legacy Dance Academy at the age of 5 and is a graduate of the studio. She has attended workshops such as Manhattan Dance Project and has participated in master classes with artists such as Jon Lehrer,
Derek Roland, and Brett Gunio.
Sara is currently attending Nazarteh College, majoring in Biomedical Sciences and minoring in both Pre-Med and Dance.
Sydney Campbell
Jazz,Tap, & PrimaryTeacher
Sydney Campbell began studying dance at Sandy Stramonine School of Dance now Legacy Dance Academy at the age of 4, and graduated from the studio in 2022. She has attended Dance Masters of America workshops as well as Manhattan Dance Project, and has taken class from artists such as Jon Lehrer, Brett Gunio, and Derek Roland. She is studying Biology and Adolescent Education at Nazareth University along with minors in Dance, Chemistry, and Spanish. She is also the choreographer for Gananda Community Youth Theatre and completed an Assistant Choreographer internship with JCC CenterStage in the summer of 2023.
Lena Treasure
Pre-School &
Primary Teacher
Lena Treasure began her dance career at Sandy Stramonine School of Dance, now Legacy Dance Academy, at the age of 5. During her time at the studio, she had the opportunity to attend several workshops including Dance Masters of America and Manhattan Dance Project, in addition to h the Radio City Rockettes summer intensive. After graduating from the studio in 2022, Lena began her collegiate career at SUNY Fredonia where she took part in the American College Dance Association (ACDA) at Mercyhurst University. Currently, Lena will be attending SUNY Brockport as an Exercise Science Major with a concentration in strength and conditioning. She is looking forward to exploring the dance opportunities that are offered at Brockport.
Sandy Stramonine
Studio Founder
Studio Founder & Substitute Teacher Sandy Stramonine began studying dance at the age of four. She continued studies with Olive McCue, founder of the Mercury Ballet of Rochester New York. She also studied with Lynne Markus Kareken, principal dancer with the Metropolitan Opera Company, and with Shan Dai, former ballerina with the Central Ballet of China. Sandy studied jazz and tap with the late David DeMarie in Clarence, NY and Tom Ralabate in Buffalo, NY. She is a member of Dance Masters of America where she is certified as a national examiner. Sandy has taught master classes for DMA and has adjudicated many competitions throughout the area.
Michelle Faulkner
Substitute Teacher
Miss Michelle began dancing when Sandy Stramonine School of Dance, now Legacy Dance Academy, first opened its doors in 1980. She started teaching our studio and other area studios at age 16. Michelle has attended various dance workshops including Manhattan Dance Project, Tremaine, Dance Alliance, and Broadway Dance Center to name a few. She was a Dance Major at Mercyhurst College and obtained her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Geneseo.
